As of February 20th (my 34th birthday), I have begun writing my first book for publication. My working title is “Hope for Your Story: The Relationship Transformation of Living in the Kingdom of Heaven.” I entered this project with the intention of writing a “practical” book about the core issues that drive relationships (marriage, parenting, friendship, etc), the issues that are less obvious and more important than issues such as communication style, time together, and others which seem to get so much popular and “expert” attention. At the leading of God’s Spirit within me, my book is shaping up to be much more “spiritual” in focus than I had ever intended. I am now writing out of the conviction that “practical” and “spiritual” are arbitrary distinctions, and that real growth and transformation permeates our whole life experience when we daily live in the Way of the Kingdom of heaven.
As of the November/December 2007 issue, I am now writing a regular column in Southern Families Magazine entitled “Hope For Your Family.” This is an “ask-the-expert” column, with my email address included so readers can submit their questions to me for response in forthcoming issues of Southern Families. This excellent magazine is based in Baton Rouge, with a circulation throughout Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama.
I am now a regular on the “Parenting 101″ segment of WAFB’s morning news at 6:15. For now, I am on every fourth Tuesday of the month. Check out my “Parenting 101″ page for more insights into the topics I have discussed on the air.
I also appear from time to time on The Around Town Show with Scott Rogers. I would encourage you to watch the show regularly on Saturdays and Sundays (2 unique shows each weekend) on Cox 4 at 8 am, and Metro 21 at 9 am. I’ll post here when I’ll be on the show again.
